Ok, so being sick is nothing to write home about, this is just for documentation sake.
Yesterday, Mommy took off work but still took you to the sitter (Daddy is in Arizona for work) so that she wouldn’t get you sick, or so she thought. Little did she know it was too late. It started off as a normal night, you ate and even went to swimming. You even went to sleep just as planned. Until the stroke of midnight… The shit hit the fan so to say.
You woke up and were like this, inconsolable.
Nothing I did work. You couldn’t get into a comfortable position to fall asleep if your life depended on it. I called and woke up your dad and I was in tears because I for one was helpless right along with you since I had already given you Tylenol for a slight goopy eye prior to bed.
After I woke up your Dad I, of course, called your Nana in tears asking her what she would do. It was then that I packed you up and loaded you into the car and we were headed to Cincinnati Children’s hospital. Or so I thought. Once I got over the bridge you were sound asleep. So I did what anyone would have done, I drove around to make sure you were REALLY asleep. After about 45 minutes of driving, I turned back home. Somehow, magically, by the grace of God, I got you out of your car seat in the pouring rain and into bed without you waking up.
You slept until 7:30, so a solid 3 hours of sleep! Yeah! Winning! 👎🏼 I then had your Daddy call the pediatrician because you had dozed back off for a bit. Your appt was set for 9:45.
When you woke up you had a whole bunch of yellow eye crusties. I knew you were definitely sick and you weren’t just crying for the hell of it last night.
Sure enough, Dr. Bobinski diagnosed you with an eye and ear infection. So we were off to the Pharmacy. While we waited for your prescription to be filled we waited at Target. I shopped, you slept.
As of today, once we got some medicine in you, you were able to sleep here and there, but since you are a happy baby that has just learned to crawl you don’t want to be tied down. So Mommy has blocked you in the living room and is counting down til your next nap so she can sleep too.
I hope you tart feeling better very soon! Love you buddy!
