Today was your lip and tongue tie surgery, and everything at the doctors office went according to plan. It was getting there that we had issues.
Appointment was at 11am and it was an hour to get there. There being Beavercreek, Ohio. We decided to leave at around 9am which would give us plenty of time to get there. Right? Wrong. For whatever reason, research still pending, I-75N was closed for a few miles. We sat in stand still traffic for a good 20-25 minutes with no hope of making our 11am appointment. We called and rescheduled for 11:30am, but that was it. We had to make it to that appointment, or we would have to reschedule for another day which would be a pain since this appointment was hard enough to schedule. So we were determined to make it. So your mom and I worked together… until your mom fired me as navigator and took over navigating and driving. As your mom would say she was “haulin’ ass.”
Finally, we arrived at the doctors office. An hour drive felt like 30 minutes thanks to Mario Andretti behind the weel… Or Speedracer? None of these references will really make since once you are old enough to read this. So think of a really fast driver and that’s who your mom was. Anyway, once we arrived and filled out the paperwork we were taken back to the doctor. Dr. Greg Notestine was very nice. He took the time to explain everything to us and let us know that along with you being lip tied you were tongue tied also. So now two cuts instead of one. Yay! It actually wasn’t that big of deal. They swaddled you, put some awesome glasses on you, mom held you down and we were underway. Dr. Notestine took what looked like a long needle, which was actually the laser, and sliced under your tongue and upper lip.
It took all of 2 minutes and you were finished. You cried during and after for a few but then you were back to your normal self. Mom tried breastfeeding you but you weren’t having it, probably since you were in a strange place and your mouth was still numb from the procedure.
We will continue to report your status on here as you recover.
Love you buddy
